Pattern of Some Sperm Proteins, Anti-oxidants, Testosterone, and Prostate-Specific Antigen of Infertile Males with Sperm Cell Deformities in Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Aim: Infertility is a global problem affecting both males and females. It condition with psychological, economic, medical implications resulting in trauma stress, particularly society where there strong emphasis on childbearing. The study therefore aims to investigate the pattern of some sperm proteins, anti-oxidants, prostate-specific antigen seminal plasma infertile cell deformities.
 Study Design: case-control designed semen parameters proteins deformities Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
 Place Duration Study: was carried out Department Medical Laboratory Science, State University, Harcourt. However, investigations were done Chemical Pathology Unit Microbiology University Harcourt Teaching Hospital, between periods September 2019 Feb. 2022.
 Methodology: A total 276 indicated interest participate which 193 male subjects recruited. These grouped into normospermic (100), azoospermic (40) oligospermic (53). Based their morphology active motility, they further classified asthenozoospermic (40), oligoasthenozoospermic (48), teratozoospermic (26), asthenoteratozoospermic (32), oligoasthenoteratozoospermic (22). HSP70, PKA, MDA, TAC, GPX (in plasma), PSA, testosterone serum) analyzed using ELISA while TAC spectrophotometric methods. Results obtained statistically GraphPad Prism SPSS.
 Results: Sperm TSC, normal poor but very severe OAT subjects. altered abnormal morphologies. HSP70 PKA significantly increased OPN, decreased cells. Testosterone PSA blood lower higher respectively.
 Conclusion: Oxidative stress played significant role fertility. most affected.
